A low pressure system is currently moving through parts of Arizona, creating a divided weather pattern for the state. Northern regions face a higher probability of precipitation, while the Phoenix Valley remains largely dry and sunny.
Forecasters report that the chance of rain in Flagstaff and other areas across Northern Arizona stands at approximately 40 percent today. Eastern Arizona faces even higher odds of precipitation, with isolated thunderstorms also possible. In contrast, Phoenix is expected to reach a high of 78 degrees Fahrenheit under mostly sunny skies. Winds in the capital will remain light during the day before picking up in the evening.
Wind conditions will vary significantly by location over the next 48 hours. The Colorado River Valley will experience stronger winds today and tomorrow. In higher elevations across the state, gusts could reach 35 miles per hour. For the Phoenix area, Saturday will bring breezy northeasterly winds at speeds between 10 and 15 miles per hour, with occasional stronger gusts.
The weekend outlook points toward dry conditions statewide as high pressure moves in. This shift is expected to bring slightly warmer temperatures. In the Valley, mornings will range from the 50s to 60s degrees, while afternoons will warm to the low 80s. The dry trend is projected to continue through at least midweek next week.
Veterans Day on Tuesday is expected to feature sunshine and a high temperature near 82 degrees. Meteorologists are monitoring for a potential weather shift by the following weekend, though current data leaves rain chances very uncertain for that period.
