A high of 78 degrees will mark the start of a warming trend in the Phoenix Valley today, sitting three degrees below the seasonal average. Clear skies and morning lows in the 50s define the current conditions, while clouds begin to stream in later in the day.
The weather pattern shifts toward partly cloudy conditions for the remainder of the day and into Friday. Temperatures on Friday are projected to reach the upper 70s. A brief disturbance will affect the state's mountainous regions on Friday, bringing a chance of light rain, but the Valley is expected to remain dry.
Dry conditions will persist through the weekend and into at least the middle of next week. Forecasters are monitoring rain probabilities for late next week and the following weekend, but no precipitation is currently expected for the immediate future.
Sunny skies will dominate the upcoming weekend. Mornings will stay in the 50s, while afternoons will warm into the low 80s. Winds from the north and northeast will pick up on Friday night and continue through the weekend, creating breezy conditions.
The gradual warming across the state will continue over the next few days. The Valley remains the focal point for dry weather, while mountain areas may see sporadic light rainfall on Friday.
