A husband from Stockport has pleaded guilty to more than 60 criminal offences after inviting numerous men to sexually assault his wife while she was unconscious. The man, who is in his 60s, resolved to "satisfy his own perversity" by arranging for increasing numbers of individuals to visit the marital home. He cannot be named in order to protect the anonymity of his wife, who suffered the abuse over a period extending into mid-2025.
Nine other men are currently standing trial at Manchester Minshull Street crown court. Prosecutors argue that these defendants either participated directly in the abuse or encouraged it online while "hiding behind the screens of their mobile telephones and computers." Four additional men have already pleaded guilty to various charges and will be sentenced alongside the husband at a later date. The trial focuses on the timeline of events and the specific knowledge each defendant possessed regarding the victim's state.
Daniel Rayner, 42, of Whitstable, Kent, is accused of being a "non-contact" offender who repeatedly sought visual evidence of the abuse. The court heard that Rayner told the husband, "Passed out ones are obviously better," and asked, "Hope she’s being used tonight." After viewing images of other men assaulting the victim, Rayner inquired about the substance used to incapacitate her, stating, "I’ve always used GHB." He denies conspiracy to rape, conspiracy to assault by penetration, and conspiracy to administer a substance with intent.
The prosecution outlined specific incidents involving several of the defendants. In early 2025, Philip Wild, 59, and Mohammed Sabir, 28, both from Stockport, abused the woman in a single night. The husband later asked Sabir to write a review on a swingers website. The post read: "Really easy to set up a meet. It was my first [experience] fucking someone’s wife in front of them, so thanks for that. Hope to meet again soon." Sabir denies rape and conspiracy to rape, while Wild denies sexual assault, attempted rape, and assault by penetration.
In May 2025, Jordan Wallace, 31, of Wythenshawe, was described as "pissed" when he cycled to the home after the husband declined to collect him. Wallace was "fully aware" the victim was unconscious and "got rough" during the assault. He later requested and received videos of the incident. In June, Alan Keelan, 42, climbed on top of the unconscious woman wearing black women's knickers and attempted to have sex with her. Both men deny their respective charges of rape, attempted rape, or assault by penetration.
The trial also covers actions by Richard Townsend, 38, of Heywood, and Jonathan Kirk, 43, of Stockport. Townsend stopped the assault in July 2024 only when the victim became restless. Kirk, a senior paramedic, met the husband at his home in August 2024 and was shown photographs of the woman being abused. Despite warning that drugging the victim "could be very dangerous," Kirk later took a taxi to the scene. Prosecutors stated that as a trained medical professional, he "cannot have failed to notice she was not conscious." The trial continues.
The case highlights the financial and logistical arrangements made through online platforms to facilitate the abuse. The defendants come from various locations including Kent, Derbyshire, Cheshire, Dundee, and Somerset. All guilty parties will await sentencing, while the remaining nine defendants await the jury's verdict on the specific counts of conspiracy and direct assault.
