Residents of Austin, Texas, face a wet and cloudy Monday as the city prepares for widespread rain. The weather service AccuWeather reports an 87% probability of precipitation for the day. This forecast marks a sharp shift from the typical dry conditions often seen in the region during late autumn.
Daytime conditions will feature more clouds than clear skies. The high temperature is expected to reach 84 degrees Fahrenheit, or 29 degrees Celsius, around midday. As the day progresses, temperatures will drop to a low of 68 degrees Fahrenheit, or 20 degrees Celsius, by evening. Winds from the south will blow at approximately 9.32 miles per hour throughout the day.
Atmospheric pressure averages 1014.1 hPa but is set to decline as the day unfolds. The city will experience 11 hours of daylight, with sunrise at 06:46 a.m. and sunset at 5:43 p.m. Cloud cover is estimated at 14%, though the high chance of rain suggests active weather systems are in place.
Conditions will deteriorate further on Tuesday, November 3. The forecast calls for mixed clouds and clear patches, accompanied by a chance of thunderstorms and rain. Temperatures will fluctuate between a low of 55 degrees Fahrenheit and a high of 79 degrees Fahrenheit. This cooling trend highlights the variable nature of weather in Texas, where conditions change rapidly between the northern and southern parts of the state.
