Former Manchester United youth player Tahith Chong is set to make a return to the Premier League, as Birmingham City is reportedly willing to sell the attacking midfielder for approximately £5 million. Chong, who initially joined Birmingham from Manchester United for £1.5 million last year after a successful loan spell, has attracted interest from newly-promoted Luton Town, among other clubs.

Despite the impending arrival of new owners, Tom Wagner and American investment firm Knighthead, Birmingham is expected to operate under financial constraints in the upcoming season. Manager John Eustace has been made aware of the limited room for maneuver and is likely to work with a tight budget. The recent departure of Jobe Bellingham, younger brother of England star Jude Bellingham, who joined Sunderland for around £3 million, has already provided a financial boost to the club. Chong’s potential departure would further increase the club’s funds. Birmingham has also secured the signings of Ethan Laird from Manchester United and Tyler Roberts from Leeds United for a combined cost of approximately £1.5 million.

Eustace, who impressively guided Birmingham to a comfortable survival in the Championship last season amidst off-field uncertainty, has reportedly attracted interest from Swansea City during the close season. However, he has chosen to remain at St Andrew’s. Mail Sport understands that Eustace will be expected to build upon last season’s 17th-place finish, even though he will be working with a reduced wage bill.

Eustace mentioned that he has had preliminary discussions about the future, but due to the ongoing developments at the football club, detailed negotiations have yet to take place. He expressed his belief that the club trusts him to focus on his responsibilities and anticipates that when the time is right, they will sit down and formulate a plan for the future.

Luton Town, one of the interested clubs, has shown keenness in acquiring the services of the promising young player. The potential move to Luton Town would offer Chong an opportunity to continue his development in the Premier League, following his time at Manchester United and subsequent loan spell at Birmingham City.

Man City are ‘set to seal an agreement for Man United academy star Harrison Parker’

In a surprising turn of events, Manchester City is reportedly poised to secure the signing of one of Manchester United’s academy prospects in a summer transfer. While Pep Guardiola’s Treble-winning side is actively bolstering their first-team squad, they are also looking to strengthen their youth ranks.

Harrison Parker, who joined Manchester United’s renowned academy two years ago from Arsenal, appears to be on the verge of departing, as Manchester City has expressed their interest in acquiring the talented teenager. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a deal for the 16-year-old is said to be imminent, with both clubs in the final stages of reaching an agreement.

Parker has garnered significant praise at Manchester United, having swiftly progressed through the club’s ranks and even making three appearances for their Under-18 team. Last season, he played a full 90 minutes against Nottingham Forest’s Under-18 side, contributing to a 1-1 draw. He also featured in matches against Stoke and Blackburn. With Parker set to turn 17 in September, it seems that Manchester City is eager to secure the deal before he enters the age bracket where he can sign his first professional contract.

Reportedly, Manchester City has outmaneuvered four other top clubs in the pursuit of Parker’s signature, and the young defender is poised to join the club on a new youth contract. Manchester United had reportedly hoped to convince Parker to remain at Carrington by offering him their most lucrative youth deal to date, but their efforts were rebuffed.

The Red Devils had previously identified Parker as a player with a promising future, exemplified by his inclusion in the squad for an FA Youth Cup match two years ago, when he was just 15 years old. Despite his tender age, Parker already possesses an imposing stature, standing over 6 feet tall, giving him a physical advantage over many players in the Premier League.

Manchester City’s move to secure Parker’s services reflects their commitment to investing in talented young players and strengthening their youth development. By adding Parker to their ranks, they aim to continue nurturing his potential and contribute to the ongoing growth of their esteemed academy system.
